Our goal is for each student to be able to function within their potential in Each setting the student may next experience.
Estrella Day School is a Private Special Education School. We serve students ages 3-21 with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and other severe learning disorders. We are located in Goodyear, Arizona. Additional programs provided at the school include After-School, Respite and Enrichment. The goal of ALL OF our programs is to help students achieve their FULLEST POTENTIAL.
Dr. Katie Sprouls, Founder
Dr. Sprouls is the Co-owner of Estrella Day School, Eleutheria, LLC, The Wellness Center: Yoga & Therapies and PBIS Arizona. Dr. Sprouls is a certified School Psychologist, Special Education Advocate, Professional Development Curriculum Designer/Trainer, and director of the Yoga Teacher Training Program specializing in teaching students with disabilities.
Terri Chace, CCC SLP, Founder
Terri Chace is the Co-owner of Estrella Day School, Eleutheria, LLC, The Wellness Center: Yoga & Therapies and PBIS Arizona. Ms. Chace is a licensed Speech Language Pathologist.
Sean Chappell, CCC SLP Speech Language Pathologist
Sean has been a Speech-Language Pathologist since 2007. He earned a B.S. in Theatre Arts from Eastern Illinois University and M.S. in Communication Disorders from Arizona State University. Sean has worked with children and adults with Autism and Multiple Disabilities and specializes in Augmentative and Alternative Communication. Sean started his career working in the school setting with students in self-contained classrooms before transitioning to work in the clinic full time. He has also provided teletherapy for students in rural Arizona as well as Minnesota, Washington and California. Sean has worked as a trainer for PBIS Arizona and implemented the positive behavior supports at The Wellness Center. Sean is a member of the Estrella Day School advisory board.
Nicole Mundstock, MOTR/L, School Director
Nicole has been working with children for the past 12 years and has been a pediatric occupational therapist since 2016. She graduated from Northern Arizona University in 2011 with a BS in Biology and a minor in Business and Chemistry. In 2015, she graduated from Midwestern University in Glendale with her Masters in Occupational Therapy. She enjoys working with children of all ages with various needs in both school and outpatient settings. Her passion is working in education to enhance learning opportunities for students with disabilities and prepare them for the future. She enjoys learning about disability law and advocacy, assistive technology and universal design for learning, sensory processing, reflex integration, and vision therapy. She is also a yoga teacher with an additional certification in yoga for kids with disabilities. She enjoys incorporating her yoga training into therapy and teaching yoga classes for children and adults with various needs. Nicole is a member of the Estrella Day School advisory board.
Heather Engebrethsen, M.Ed. Special Education Director
Heather has been working with children with disabilities in various capacities over the last 10 years. She has spent the past 5 years teaching in the Special Education setting in Phoenix, Arizona. Heather is currently working on completing her dissertation for her doctorate degree in Advanced Educational Administration and Leadership at Argosy University in Phoenix, Arizona. In 2013, she received her M.A. in Educational Psychology from Argosy University in Phoenix. For undergraduate studies, Heather attended University of Arizona where she received her BS in Family Studies and Human Development with a minor in Psychology. Heather started her career as a developmental specialist working with children in the Arizona Early Intervention Program (AZEIP). From there, she began working as a Family Support Specialist for children with emotional needs. At this point in her career, Heather found that she had a passion for improving the quality of education for students with different disabilities and enrolled in an alternative pathway program to receive her teaching certificate. Heather believes that children need to be in a safe, loving, and supportive environment to meet their goals.
Heather Rollinger, Special Education Teacher
Heather comes to us from the state of Washington where she obtained her special education teaching degree from Central Washington University in 2013. In December of 2018 she obtained her graduate degree in the area of Applied Behavior Analysis with and emphasis in autism from Ball State University. Now entering her 6th year as a special education teacher, Heather has a passion for meeting every individual child's needs.
Beth Mosiman, M.Ed, Special Education Compliance Specialist
This will be Beth's 20th year working professionally in the education field. She has a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Math from National Louis University, a Masters Degree in Special Education from Northeastern Illinois University, and an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Northcentral University. Beth began teaching in the Chicagoland and moved to Arizona in 2010. Beth has worked with children since she was 15 years old, starting out as a camp counselor and eventually overseeing the entire camp while attending college. She enjoys working with children of all levels and abilities. She also enjoys supporting new teachers in understanding best practices and how to meet students' needs. In her spare time, Beth enjoys spending time with her husband, kids, and dogs, as well as watching movies, reading, and practicing yoga. Beth is the lead compliance specialist for the Estrella Day School advisory board.
Sidney Carthell, BA, RYT-200, Founder & Arts Enrichment
Sidney is a health and wellness professional, martial artist and yoga instructor at The Wellness Center, with a B.A. in English and a strong background in K-12 education. Sidney is the Chief Operating Officer at Estrella Day School. Sidney is also the arts enrichment educator.
